Dialogue only way to resolve India-Pak disputes: Qureshi
    Cambodian Times
    Friday 30th July, 2010
    (ANI)

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan had agreed to resume dialogue because they saw it as the only way to resolve disputes.

Qureshi also urged India to pay attention to Pakistani concerns over the Kashmir, water, Sir Creek and Siachin disputes.

"We can take steps which are permitted in the dialogue framework to restore confidence and narrow down the gulf between the two countries. This will also be in the interest of the region," The Dawn quoted Qureshi, as saying.

Earlier, blaming India for 'cherry picking' issues during the foreign ministerial level talks, Qureshi had said that he would visit New Delhi for the next level of talks only if the Indian government agrees to have a 'serious and meaningful dialogue' on all contentious issues.

Qureshi had also blamed India of adopting a stubborn attitude during the July 15 talks.

"I will not visit India for a leisure trip, I would only go if India is ready for a meaningful, result-oriented and constructive talks and the environment is conducive for the parleys," Qureshi had said.

"We listened to their concerns about Mumbai and terrorism and they too should have listened to our reservations. If they are answerable to their people, we too as a democracy are answerable to parliament and people of Pakistan," he added. (ANI)

Dialogue only way to resolve India-Pak disputes: Qureshi

Quereshi words are more pretenscious then based on principled faith in norms democracy and dialogue. Pakistan dialogue process starts when it’s guns and terrorism is exposed and ends when the pressure subsides. It has done it agaian and again as it believes it can by hook and crook wrestle Kashmir away from India. This thinking has only served detrimental to it’s own economy, politics and law order. The only establishment it has served is it’s all powerful army and whose behest the policy is being perpetuated. Quereshi just a pawn like many other political leaders in Pakistan who have come and gone but the Army rules. Dialogue with Pakistan would carry no meaning as long as there is attitudonal shift in Pakistan and that, in near term, does not seem likely. It is a country destined to fail and is likely to brood lot more turmoil for India, South Asia and the world before the world is forced to take drastic steps.

and what that drastic step could be Mr. panda? I suppose what you might be thinking is to let India teach us a lesson by naked aggression. Well those days are gone. India has no choice but to come to the table with genuine desire to give and take. Otherwise, there will be more turmoil as you rightly predicted. Now, whether army, elected leaders, or any one who comes to power in Pakistan, it is our internal matter. I wish change in government is through democratic process. But democracy is no guarantee that there will not be war or conflict. Hitler was in power through democracy, India was supposedly democratic when it dismembered Pakistan, Israel is a democracy but many times it has invaded its neighbor and the US is democratic but it unjustly and fraudulently invaded Iraq. Qurashi is absolutely right in what he is saying. You may not agree because of your preconceived nationalistic unjustified opinion but I feel that dialogue really is the only way out. I hope you think about it reasonably and there are more Indians sensible enough to be dialogue minded. That is the only way for peace in the subcontinent.

    Mr ah4113

Mr. ah4113 drastic steps will be taken so that Pakis really follow Islam with truth/peace, unfortunately the Islam which Pakis are following is unislamic which is largely hatred/lies/revenge. If Pakis GDP is aided GDP I.E.BEGGEDGDP, then what dialogue are we taking about. Jammu & Kashmir legally is and will be part of India, we will discuss Kashmir through a sweet dailogue, which is on the Paki side, when they are going to handover it to India, which Inshallah will be and always will be with India
